Why do I need to exfoliate?

Your skin is under a lot of stress from heat, cold, UV light and air pollution. To help it recover, you need to exfoliate it, as exfoliation removes dead skin cells that otherwise end up clogging your pores making it difficult for your skin to breathe. We recommend you exfoliate 2-3 times a week if you have normal, oily or combination (both oily and dry) skin and 1-2 times a week if you have dry or sensitive skin.

Can I use your body scrubs on my body and my face?

Yes you can! Body Jam was specifically created to be gentle enough to be used on both face and body.

Why do you use sugar instead of the usual salt scrubs?

Salt granulates can cause microscopic tears in your skin which is why we use a much gentler cane sugar option.

How do I use it?

Simply take the desired amount of scrub (a teaspoon for your face and a scooped tablespoon for your body), massage it into your skin and rinse with warm water.

How much should I use?

This is entirely up to you. We would recommend a teaspoon for your face and a scooped tablespoon for your body.

How do I best store my Body Jam scrub?

Sugar is anti-bacterial so our scrubs are not fussy. Just keep them away from heat, direct sunlight and possibly your children!

Why should I choose your exfoliation scrub over others?

We have spent quite some time creating our Body Jam formula and nothing compares to our all-natural ingredients. Body Jam is completely free of chemicals, preservative and artificial fragrances.

What are the benefits to your six magic ingredients?

Cane Sugar is a natural exfoliator, it contains natural glycolic acids, part of the group of active compounds known as AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids). It has the smallest molecules in the group so it is able to penetrate skin deeper and easier thereby allowing new skin cells to develop quicker.

Coconut Oil has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. It is also an antioxidant which means it fights free radicals and slows down the ageing process by promoting the production of collagen.

Jojoba Oil is an emollient which mimics our skins own natural oil and keeps our oil levels balanced. It does this by forming a layer on top of the skin which traps water underneath and keeps it hydrated. But don't worry, it is also non-comedogenic so it won't clog your pores.

Vegetable Glycerin is a liquid produced from plant oils that acts as a humectant. This means it draws moisture from the environment into your skin and thereby keeps it hydrated. It also smoothes the skin by reducing fine lines and microscopic cracks.

Vitamin E is a natural anti-aging nutrient that repairs damaged skin and helps fight against skin cancer. It also helps the healing process of the skin and treats sunburns, scars, acne and wrinkles.

Soya Lecithin is a natural ingredient extracted from the soy bean. It contains many nutrients and vitamins that are very beneficial for your skin and helps soften and moisturise it, allowing the essential oils to penetrate deeper.

Which scrub would be best for my skin type?

Normal = Coconut Coffee/Pina Colada
Combo = Mojito/Tangerine/Sandalwood
Oily = Pink Grapefruit/Citrus
Dry = Cocoa Butter/Carnation
Ageing = Jasmine Green Tea
Sensitive = Lavender
Irritated = Rose

What does “vegan and cruelty free” mean?

It means manufactured or developed by methods which do not involve cruelty to animals or use animal products.

Your scrubs smell so delicious, can I eat them?

Funnily enough we get asked this a lot! The answer is “Yes you can!” (because they are made of 100% natural ingredients), but we really wouldn't recommend it...
